Greyhounds Australasia (GA) announces the approval of several amendments to the GA Rules, set to take effect from 1 July 2024.
Amendments are:
- (i) GAR 138 (e) Meaning of exempted substance – (Cyclosporin, Tacrolimus, Oclacitinib, Lokivetmab)
- (ii) GAR 139 (1)(n) Permanently banned prohibited substances, and certain offences in relation to them – (Typographical amendment “FG-4592”)
- (iii) GAR 140 (h) Prohibited Substances subject to a threshold – (Prednisolone)
- (iv) GAR 146 (6)(g) Therapeutic substances and screening limits – (Ketoprofen); and
- (v) GAR 147 (6)(d) Residue substances and residue limits – (Procaine).
These amendments follow a rigorous review process, which included targeted research, extensive risk analysis, public consultation and feedback from key stakeholders.
Please note that the implementation of the GA rule amendments is subject to adoption by State-based controlling bodies, prior to their regulatory enforcement.
