Before the collection, storage, freezing and/or insemination of semen may be undertaken, the person undertaking the process must be approved by the Controlling Body and Greyhounds Australasia.  No storage of breeding units or artificial insemination of greyhounds can be undertaken by a person who has not been approved.

Each person is required to renew and be approved on an annual basis commencing 1st July each year.

A person may apply to be registered as an approved person by lodging a completed prescribed application for registration of approved person form together with the prescribed fee and by undertaking an artificial insemination training course to the satisfaction of Greyhounds Australasia, inclusive of a certificate stating that the applicant has attained the relevant standard of competency and maintain that standard as required by the Controlling Body.
